History of Pinnacle Taekwondo Academy
My introduction to Taekwondo was inspired by my father, who discovered a Taekwondo school during his station in Germany. This was where I first joined the martial art and earned my yellow belt. That initial experience ignited my lifelong passion for Taekwondo.
After my father retired from service, our family relocated to North Carolina. He soon found another Taekwondo school in Hillsboro, NC, which became the foundation for my continued training. I was only six years old when I began intensive practice, dedicating myself fully to art.
By the age of ten, I achieved a significant milestone: earning my black belt. This accomplishment also marked the start of my teaching journey, as I began to learn how to instruct others. Not long after, we established a school in Burlington, where I served as a training instructor. It was in this role that my passion for Taekwondo truly flourished.
At sixteen, I reached another major goal by earning my third-degree black belt. Throughout my journey, I participated in many tournaments and developed friendships that grew into a strong sense of community. The students I taught and the people I met became more than just acquaintances—they became my extended family.
These experiences shaped my desire to start my own school. My goal was to recreate the family atmosphere and discipline that had been so meaningful in my own training. By founding Pinnacle Taekwondo Academy, I aim to provide a place where students could develop not just their martial arts skills, but also lasting bonds and a sense of belonging.
